Birge Engineering actively promotes the design and construction of sustainable projects for our clients.  Our staff of engineers and landscape architects begins each project by evaluating the potential for mitigating the effects of urban runoff on receiving waters, use of recycled water for irrigation and fire suppression systems, utilizing low impact construction techniques, best management practices and erosion control.

Sustainable projects completed by Birge Engineering have included recycled water systems for parks and schools, land stabilization projects utilizing native plant material needing no irrigation, storm water treatment systems and sediment/erosion control systems.
